All quotations are provided free of charge and without obligation. Quotes are valid for 30 days from the date of issue. Estimates are based on the information provided and may be revised if the actual scope of work differs materially from what was described.
A deposit of 20% of the quoted price is required to confirm a booking. The remaining balance is due on the day of the move unless otherwise agreed. Deposits are non-refundable for cancellations made less than 7 days before the scheduled move date.
Date changes made more than 48 hours in advance are accommodated free of charge wherever availability allows.
Cancellation Waiver (optional add-on — £100): add a £100 cancellation waiver to your booking and we'll refund your full deposit no matter when you cancel — no time-based deductions, no questions. Useful if your move date is uncertain (chain delays, completion not yet confirmed, etc.). Charged once per booking.
If our crew is unable to start loading or unloading at the agreed time due to circumstances on the customer's side (late key release, completion delays, late access, vehicles blocking entry, etc.), the following charges apply:
Waiting-time charges only apply where the delay is outside our reasonable control. We will always stay in contact and do everything we can to help.
Waiting Time Waiver (optional add-on — £100): add a £100 waiting time waiver to your booking and we'll absorb up to 4 hours of waiting time with no per-hour charges — whatever the cause on your side. Particularly recommended if you're in a chain or expecting a same-day key release. Charged once per booking.
Standard cover (included): every move is covered by our goods-in-transit policy up to £40 per item, with a £25,000 aggregate cap per job. This is suitable for most household moves and is provided at no additional cost.
Enhanced full-value cover (optional add-on): if your total contents value exceeds £25,000, or you want unlimited per-item cover, we offer enhanced cover priced against your declared total goods value:
Items of exceptional individual value (jewellery, fine art, antiques over £2,500/item) must be itemised separately so we can confirm cover before move day. Public liability insurance is included in every job. Claims must be notified within 7 days of delivery. Customers are advised to maintain their own contents insurance for items not covered above.
We take all reasonable care with your belongings. However, we cannot be held liable for damage caused by inadequate packing (where the customer has packed items themselves), pre-existing damage, or items of extraordinary value not declared before the move.
We accept payment by card (via Stripe), bank transfer, and cash. All prices include VAT where applicable.
If you are not satisfied with our service, please contact us first at info@astraremovals.co.uk. We aim to acknowledge all complaints within 2 working days and respond fully within 14 days. If we cannot resolve the matter to your satisfaction, you retain all rights available to you under UK consumer law.
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
